2 weeks ago I was still able to find small berries on the ground.

Yesterday, at the exakt same spot, I found the sad leftovers.

Black and White

A couple of weeks ago the same pond was dressed in autumn. Now it's winter. At last. We had 3 nights with clear sky, moonlight and stars and minus 15. And yesterday the snow came. The mountains are covered in fog, and the pictures almost look monocrome.

Countdown to Christmas

Today the official countdown for christmas started. The shops were open between 2 and 6 pm and there were tons of people out shopping and to see the towns official christmas tree. And to see this years Lucia Bride.

Lucia is a very old tradition here in Sweden. Lucia is a virgin who came to help the Swedes during the great famine. Lucia came with light and with bread and fed the hungy.

Since 1973 there's a yearly competion in towns all over Sweden, where a young girl is selected to be the towns Lucia Bride. She is coronated or crowned in the church on Saint Lucy's Day, which is December 13.
